LOT 15 - 1896 German "Broom Handle" Mauser
Description

1896 German "Broom Handle" Mauser.  Absolutely Spectacular Condition!  A true piece of history and without a doubt one of the nicest original Broom Handle Mausers in existence.  All matching numbers with original leather holster.  One of the early model Mausers believed to be between 1896 and 1905.  Very low serial number!

HISTORY OF THIS WEAPON:  Owned by an Alabama Estate.  A WWII veteran took this Mauser from a German Officer at the end of WWII and brought it home to the U.S. where it has remained with the same family since.  It is believed to be from the WWI era but was carried by a German Officer who served in both WWI & WWII.  The firearm is in spectacular condition.  The veteran who brought this firearm home after the war, oiled the gun, wrapped it in plastic and kept it stored until the 1970's.  It was passed down to his son who had it vacuum sealed in a bag and put in the safety deposit box.  The grandson brought it to our office where we removed it from it's package.   A true musuem piece and great investment firearm!
