One of (2) Sister 1956 Bel Air Convertibles that we recovered from a Birmingham Alabama Hoarders Estate!

This amazing, and very rare Bel Air is believed to be a one owner vehicle. The late owners son stated that his father purchased this car brand new in 1956. Due to mental healthier issues, he had become a recluse and parked this car and another 56 Convertible (lot 17) in the backyard of one of his old houses almost 40 years ago. He covered them both with tarps and abandoned them there. When we found them, old vines and trees had grown up around them both, but remarkably, both were still in tact. We believe that both vehicles are very restorable! This subject car has VIN#56B130378. The body is in amazing condition with the only obvious rust through at the bottoms of the doors and rocker panels and lower rear quarters. Of course, like most convertibles of this era, the floors and trunk pans will need replacing. Most, if not all of the stainless trim is in tact. The original convertible top frame appears to be all there as well. We could not get the hood open. It does have a engine and transmission and it’s possible that they are original to the car. It is almost impossible to find a complete, unrestored 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible! How rare is it to find 2?

The State of Alabama does not title vehicles 35 years and older so you will be receiving an Alabama Bill of Sale Only! We do not know when it was last registered, but we assume its been 30 to 40 years ago. No Alabama registration or documentation other than a bill of sale will go with the car. We have provided a few photos of this and its sister 56 from the Hoarders house where we recovered them for you review as well. Good bidding!!!
